LaBEQ & CU-EBIT receive AFOSR grant to build a testbed for MCI-superconductor interactions.

LaBEQ, in collaboration with the Clemson Electron Beam Ion Trap facilities (CU-EBIT, directed by Dr. Chad Sosolik), has received funding from the AFOSR to Build Single-event Analysis System to Study Interactions between Multi-charged Ions (MCIs) and Superconductors. The total funding for this program is about $450,000 for 1 year, received through the AFOSR-DURIP program. The program will launch a testbed for MCI-superconductor interactions that facilitate the development of superconducting quantum MCI detector currently pursued by the team.
